D&B s Australian database captures information on every Australian business. Records are created on a direct feed of ABN s and ACN s from the Australian Securities and Investment Commission and Australian Tax Office. D&B then enhances the information collected on the entity using a variety of sources of information (outlined below).
Data is collected locally from sources including:
The Australia Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
The Offices of Fair Trading in each state
Federal, State and Local Courts
Land Titles Office in each state
Global Debt Collection database
Directories
Other government bodies in each state
Credit Providers
The Entity via Interviews with D&B Analysts
Public records
Bankruptcy Information – Insolvency Trustee Service Australia (ITSA)
Judgment and summons (AU only) Information – Australian courts
Individuals
Media monitors
Records within D&B s database are prioritised for updating based upon two primary attributes:
Businesses that have a registered charge
Businesses with trade payment data (from D&B s Trade Giveback Program)
These attributes indicate that an entity is actively trading and seeking credit and therefore more desirable prospect for a strategic marketing campaign. This universe equates to approximately 1.7 million businesses.
